To provide an understanding of the principles of scientific investigation into welfare assessment, measurement and definition, as well as define the appropriate behavioural responses that are linked to preservation of good welfare. Students will assess behaviour and welfare in the following management systems; zoo, farm, domestic pet and laboratory.
